How do I get mice from entering my house? They are not in the house during the day. No doors, windows, or even teeny slivers of air where they could enter. I have never heard them in the walls. I have several V fast-trapping traps set out, with peanut butter, wherever I have seen droppings. These are little mice with little droppings. They are moving the traps around at night from place to place. I have eight traps set in my kitchen and laundry room . I have not, in eight nights trapped even a single mouse! (These traps are so sensitive that they snap when I even touch an outside corner.)PLEASE HELP! I live in a suburban area--no farms or urban litter around. My neighbor has a pepper tree and a crabapple tree, which I believe could bee an attraction. These folks don't speak English and are not too friendly, so it may be difficult to get them to cooperate. Thank you so much. These critters are ruining my days! Kristin Trom, Coto de Caza CA 92679. E-mail: XXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX

First, I feel for you..we go through this almost every year. I doubt your neighbors are going to do anything about their pepper tree or their crab apple tree so the best place to start is to secure your home. You would be surprised that a mouse can and will actually follow you into your home through a door or garage door when open and you won't even notice. They can also get in through dryer vets and even under doors that don't have a seal at the bottom. Mice tend to "hug the walls" as their noses work much better than their eyes so when you place your traps, do so against the wall running horizontal with the walls. Make sure all breads and grains and other foods are in air tight sealable containers. Wipe down counters and sweep up really well before bed...mice are nocturnal. Below is a website, published by Cornell University here in NY that will tell you ways to keep thse critters from your home. You might also consider, instead of using just peanut butter to use a small piece of bread with peanut butter on it...I have had much success with this in the past. :) I hope this helps you in the defense of your home. :)

Reply to Gina's Post: This info did not help. I had already done everything you suggested. I would like an answer from someone who knows about mice. They continue to come in and leave droppings (small but many.) Everything is sealed, no food accessible. They move and snap the traps and ignore the "sticky traps". Doors and windows are sealed. They are not leaving the oily marks around the baseboards.

Reply to Steve -- a.k.a. Oreport's Post: Thanks Steve,
I had one catch today, a medium sized gray mouse, caught in a peanut butter trap, not the sticky trap. I don't think this is the only one. I have ordered an electronic device on the internet. Expect it in a few days. I will let you know if it works. I will also try the peppermint extract. This is the kind of advice I was seeking-- something that does not kill the mice, but just repels them. I'll see if it works!
Thanks
