8 month old male GSD - is 'straining' to defocate. Usually expels 'something' - every hour or two 24 hrs a day for 3 days now. Not 'normal' consistency, but not diarhea - no fever, no vomiting, normal behavior. House dog. Fecal at vets today was clear. Was given prescription for Flagyl 'to stop the straining' and 'almost diarhea'. From what I have just read about Flagyl - it is dangerous, and for infection. If all was clear, and no temp - why this drug? What is really wrong with him?
