I have a ten year old rottweiler who is in outstanding physical condition. (even the vets say he is like a 4-year old dog physically). My problem is that lately he is burping a lot, throws up after eating (it looks like a cocoon of slime all wrapped around the food he had just eaten, and he is drooling excessively lately. He has not gotten into anything, nor have we put any flea preparations on him that he could have possibly licked off. He otherwise is acting very healthy. Should I be concerned about this?

Optional Information:
Age: 10; Male; Breed: Rottweiler

Already Tried:
feeding in small meals, wetting the food

Does the food come back packed like sausage? Or smelling like fecal matter?

No, it comes back wraped in this cocoon of what appears to be the same substance as his drool. Copious amounts of it. Then, if we don't get to him fast enough, he re-eats it. It usually stays down after the second time. This happens almost every time he eats now. And no matter how often we feed him, he eats incredibly fast. There are no other pets in the house, so he has no fear of someone taking his food. A while after he eats, you can hear sort of a rhythmic belching sound coming from him.
