My Min Pin just had surgery and I had them put an E collar

Sent to Pet Experts October 25, 2005 9:22 p.m.

My Min Pin just had surgery and I had them put an E collar on her so she wouldn't mess with the stiches. She hates it. What else can I do. We got her spayed

You can try putting some Ben Gay around the suture- not on the sutures but around them to keep her from licking. You can also put a tiny tee shirt on her to cover it up if you can get it to keep the suture line covered. You will have to tie it around her waist. All vets do spay incisions a bit different. Ours makes an incision that is about 1/4" long- very very tiny. If she has a long one it may be a little harder to cover.
