Hi, my name is Tress Gadash, and i had a quick question i was hoping you could help me with.I dont really know if this would be the place to email and ask, but if not; perhaps you could pass this on to someone who could or just let me know. I have two chocolate labs that i love to hunt, but my problem is that when they get in any stagnant water such as a pond or something of that such, both of my dogs anal glads swell up and cause them severe pain. However, if i allow them to get in a river or stream this does not happen. The vets in my town of Lamar, colorado try to tell me it has nothing to do with the water, but this is the only time it happens so i know it is not coinsidense. I was also imformed that there was nothing i could do to help prevent this from happening.
These dogs however rarely get let out into quite harsh conditions of the hunting enviroment, they are usualy kept inside as house dogs. So my theroy is that perhaps they have a poor immune system to the condition in which the ponds prevail,, or maybe even an allergy to a bacteria within the ponds. I really have no clue what is making my dogs anal glands swell, but i would really appreciate some help and i beleive there is something out there that could help prevent this from happening. thanks for your help
