Can you tell me what a horse's reaction is if ...

Can you tell me what a horse's reaction is if they are experiencing some type of fever? What are the signs and symptoms?

Hello

They become very lethargic and may go off their feed. They get a dull glazed look in the eye. Sometimes they hang their heads down.

The best thing to do would be to take your horses temperature with a rectal thermometer. Tape a string on the end of the thermometer so it does not get sucked into the rectum never to be seen again.

Normal temperature is 99-102 degrees.

If your horse is acting sick and you need further help let me know.
