red stained eyes
Sent to Pet Experts June 28 01:26 AM

I was told by my groomer that if I feed my Shih Tsu and poodle each a palm full of canned green beans daily, it will get rid of the red stains under their eyes and stop it from staining in the future. She said the show dog owners do this because something in the green beans draws something from the metal can that makes this work. What do you think, and is there some other recourse? I have tried all the wipes and drops on the market and wasted my money. Isn't there anything that really works? Thanks.

Ginger;

I try and learn something new every day. In a good day I will learn two or more things. I have never heard of this. It is on the internet, and I checked with the veterinary ophthalmologists and dermatologists on the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) and there is nothing there so I listed your question on VIN. I will wait to see if anyone knows anything about this. I will keep you posted. It may be a couple of days.
