excessive thirst and urinating

For the past 2 weeks my pugs appetite, thirst and urinating increased. He even gets up @ night,gets water and then, of course, has to pee. He is otherwise healthy, had pancreatitis 1 1/2 years ago, is since on RX Food Purina EN and for about 3 months he takes 1/2 a Rimadyl qd. I'm afraid he may have diabetes....(?)
