Puffy external ear flap

I think my Golden Retriever was bit by something because the cartilage that makes up his external flap of the ear is puffy and feels like a sac. It does not hurt him to the touch or if I squeeze. It is his whole ear flap, and It's been a couple of days. Is this an allergic reaction or something more serious?
