brown spot in right eye

My cat has developed a brown spot in her right eye in approximately the 5 o'clock position as you face her. My veternarian had nothing to say about this, though the spot was not evident in older pictures. She is now 7 years old. Do you have any thoughts about what I might want to check her for based on the spot? Dietary changes? Can send photo if that is helpful.
