Question

Toy Poodle

Sent to Pet Experts September 08, 2006 10:29 p.m.

Our male poode is 12 years old, 12 pounds.
Relatively good health.
A history of arthritis in his front legs.
Today he went for a walk about an 1/8 mile and we had to carry him from the half way point back to the car. Either his front legs or paws seem to be bothering him, or are painful. He is not crying. He has not walked around much the rest of today and is panting.
Questiion ... could we give him asprin, Ibuprofen, naproxen (I've 375mg), or vicodan (I've 5-500mg). If so how much, or what would you recommend?
Thank you.
Linda
