I would say since you already have her on a great diet with restricted calcium (too much in these big kids can be disasterous on their bone growth) and it is recurring more frequently, I'd have your veterinarian take a peak at her and palpate her limbs, back, etc. to rule out any other types of growth issues - in this case, it's just better to be safe than sorry - has she been acting normal otherwise? Eating, drinking, playing, having normal bowel movements and urination?

Reply to Traci's Post: She has finished her Doxycycline and had a blood test today. her platletes were normal but down from her last test. Her first test was extremely low.

Reply to Traci's Post: She was on doxycycline 3 weeks. she has been off for 2 days. The leg quivers started before the medication. The whole tick disease was discovered with a late night nose bleed and a trip to the emergency vet about three weeks ago. Her leg quivered then but it is quivering more now. I thought it may have to do with her growth and development. is it somethine more? They didn't run titers on her. Should they?

She was diagnosed with RMSF or Ehrlichia Canis or both? It is quite possible they didn't run any titers on her if it was just RMSF because it is hard to get an accurate reading from what I understand. So it is quite possible that is why they didn't run any. It sounds like your Vet is definitely on top of things though. While the leg quivering could be related to growth, it might possibly be related to her tick illness. I think it's just better to mention it to your Vet - that way if it is something to be concerned about they will be able to treat her. And, if it's not you can rest a little easier. Remember, there are no stupid questions or concerns when it comes to the health and safety of your baby - your vet should be more than willing to listen to your concerns.
