i have a really big problem i have a month old shih tzu

I have a really big problem! I have a 10 month old Shih Tzu and she is in heat. Well, the problem is I also have a Rat Terrier and he broke the door down and finally got to her. She ran and ran away from him. I chased them both , but when I finally got to them they were together. How long do dogs have to be together from the female to became pregrant? And is there anything I can do now b/c I dont want Rat Shih's!
