how to help a grieving husky

My 6 yr old siberian husky is a suburban dog who has spent the past 3 years with my husband who was homebound on hospice. My husband died a month ago. I have returned to work full-time and now my husky boy is home alone. My neighbor called me today at work and I could hear my boy making plaintif wails all the way to my neighbors house. My neighbor will now be coming over mid-day to let him out and/or walk and visit for awhile. What can I do to help him with the grief we are experiencing?
