I have a two year old female shih tzu. This morning she was acting normal and when I went to pick her up and pull her next to me in bed, she became very rigid and acted strange. She laid there stiff with her eyes open and began a long cry of pain. It was almost like a howl. Her tongue came out and her eyes were very wide. It lasted about one to two minutes. It appeared as though she were dying. She eventually began to move around with her tail between her legs. After about twenty minutes, she appeared normal.
