I would like to ask a question about my 10.8 yr old chihuahua. She is spayed. About a month ago, while I was gone Mandy started to breath very rapidly. When I got home I took her into my vet. Xrays of the chest were normal. EKG is within normal limits. She is breathing about 80- 100X a minute. No dyspnea. No panting. Just very rapid breathing. She had a trial of theophylline, which made her worse, nausea, soft stools. Now she has small areas of 'unoxygenated small airways" in the recent X-ray done yesterday. I am desparate to know how to help this dog. She is acting fine, doesn't seem to know there is anything wrong. She was a puppymill breeder for 7 years and is a very frightened, nervous little dog. Trusts no one. I am the only one that can sit down next to her. Hel[p
