mugsys bloody stool

my shi tzu has been constipated and recently had a bloody stool. is there anything i can do to help this without taking him to a vet?

Blood can be a product of significant rectal straining. If Mugsy is acting normally, I would watch him. If there are three consistent bloody stools OR the dog becomes lethargic...a vet visit is needed.

he had two bowel movements when i walked him today and both bloody. should i count that as 1 or 2. is there anything i can do to ease any discomfort he may be having, like give a warm bath or put some cream on?

That is one...The bleeding is from the large intestines and colon...and I don't know where you would put the cream.

Anything that would settle this may have the side effect of constipation...mild foods like rice/boiled chicken or lean ground beef(cooked) settles the entire gi tract.
