Reply to Dr. Vamvakias's Post: I'm not sure about what kind of poision. That is our guess, we have been having a lot of trouble w/ my neighbor, he don't like my dogs at all. I have 3 dogs all cockers.( I should say HAD 3 dogs ) The neighbor has been comlaining about them barking at night. They are barking at his cat walking down the fence. My mom dog died Sat.night with the same symptoms. White cotton gums and a white tongue. gasping for air. One of her sons also was sick I took him to the vet, they said he was amimic. His blood count was a 7 They gave him grey hound blood. After that, his blood count was only an 8. it didn't improve much. I took him home and they gave me the steroids, amoxicillin and iron supplament. and asked me to bring him back the nxt day for some injections of glucose, which I did. Then they told me not to give him the other med they gave me. I called them back yest and asked why am I not giving him his med. anymore. She said to continue to give it to him if he's still alive. So for a few days he didn't get the med. When I continued last night to give it to him and he has puked ever since. He is puking up what looks like black stuff w/ black hair in it.( the dog is white ) I don't understand the black puke?? could he maybe sick cause I stopped the med then continued it a few days later??? It has been a week tomorrow that he has NOT ate food or pooped. he pee's O.k. He moves around and walks about 10ft before he falls down. and will drink a little water on his own. And He has been drinking the pedialite. We would like to try and get him to eat some solid food, so he will have some strength. But have had not luck getting him to take it. When I asked the vet if he could of been poisioned she said it was a possablity. Thats all she said about it. But when the mom dog died, I knew that's what it was . cause I have another boy cocker that will only come to me, and he's not sick at all and they are all in the same yard. He would not take food from anyone but me. So he's healthy has been crying and howling cause he lost his mom and that's sad. But he seems to be o.k. I have paid over $650.00. Trying to save my baby. and he's dying. Any help or advise would be VERY much apreciated. the vet changes doctors each day. so they haven't really been much help.

Reply to Dr. Vamvakias's Post: I took the towel he puked on to the vet with me to show them, They didn't seem concerned and threw it away. I'm concerned though.

If I could start over, I would pick a diffrent vet.

A friend of my family also said it could be the gi track, said he may be allergic to the amoxicillian. Do you think if he was allergic it would cause this.?

We have cimetidine avail. 400mg could we use it?
Also he looks bloated, not severly. And he is very dehidrated.
