mare has a "tumor" that has opened up, what should I do?

1) How do you know this is a tumor? Has she been seen by a vet?

2) Where is it located on her body? Is she lame because of this?

3) How big is the tumor? How big is the wound?

4) How old is your mare?

5) Is she stalled, or out in pasture, or in a corral, or stalled but with daily turn-out?

My mare is 17 years old, a bay TB
The "tumor" is golf ball sized and has erupted.
She is out in pasture.
I pulled her in 2X a day and washed area(just below vagina) with betadine and furazol,left on afterwards.

Based on the description so far, this sounds more like an abscess than a tumor. Do you have a reason to think it's a tumor, or were you just using the term "tumor" to describe the type of lump? Has she been seen by a vet?
