Question

long nails

Sent to Pet Experts January 15, 2005 7:33 p.m.

We’ve inherited a 7 yoa Choc lab with extremely long nails. I know why his nails are so long as he’s Very protective of his feet, and will actually bite if you even attempt to hold his paws. Can a vet cut them back or remove them with sedation? We’ve been told that we’ll never be able to work them back to a normal length with clippers even if he would allow the procedure.
