 Not sure of your question. Are you asking should it be removed or what it is? If either of those, a few questions first..

How old is your dog...how is his health in general...when was his last vet visit...how over weight?

9YRS OLD APX. WAS A STRAY THAT CAME TO OUR HOME. THE DOGS HEALTH ISN'T TO GOOD BECAUSE OF WEIGHT.WEIGHTS AROUND 25 POUNDS AND IS A MINITURE PINCHER. THE DOG HAS ALOT OF LUMP AROUND THE HID IN REGION AND AROUND THE STOMACH. wE ARE CURIOUS OF WHAT THIS COULD BE.THE LUMP IS PURPLE AND RED IN COLOR AND LOOKS LIKE A BIRTH SACK, BUT DOG IS SPADED. COULD YOU PLEASE LET US KNOW IF THIS IS FIXABLE OR IF THE DOG NEEDS TO BE PUT DOWN BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE OTHER TUMERS. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST APX. TO PUT A DOG DOWN IF NEEDED. THANK YOU JEFF

 Well it really depends on what type of lump it is on how serious it is and the cost of surgery. It sounds like it may be a hernia or some sort because of the coloring but without seeing it its hard to say. I would have your vet check it out and give you an idea of how serious. If its a simple hernia it may only take a short surgery to close the herniated area to prevent further damage. If its a tumor of some sort, depending if there's muscle involvement it could be a major or minor surgery, so as you see, there's a lot depending on it. If he's severly overweight, more than likely, more of what he has are lympomas or fatty tumors that once you get weight off him they should decrease in size. I would have your vet check him out and give you an estimate on what they think it is.
