Hello,

If the cat is showing signs of ripped paws and displaying pain, I would definitly reccommend him getting to the vet as soon as possible. The proper assessment needs to be done to be sure what might have happened, and to prevent further complications.

Treament plan will based on exam results, and medical care may be pertinent!

Hope this helps, my prayers are with kitty...

there are no problems with the pads except this thick black foul smelling oily tarry substaince. he can't stand this stuff on his paws and i need a way to get it off, i have tried to get him to stand in soapy h2o but he just freaks. to compare it's like you would take your hands and plunge them in honey and oily dirt then let it dry for several days. now try to get it off! any suggestions????

For: Gummy, tarlike or other sticky substances on kittys paws, you can usually remove it by rubbing or soaking a little mineral oil into the affected area, and then use a clean cloth to dab at the gunk build-up.

Try this and let it sit awhile, if he's frisky, by holding cat in your lap and dipping paws into a bowl maybe?

Still searching for more. I will let you know what I find.
