Pregnant pup

Sent to Pet Experts January 08 08:37 PM

My female was bred November 8, 2004.. she has had some light orangy color mucous discharge.. her temp also dropped to 99.6.   That was 3 days ago.. since then her temp has returned to 101 and she has not had any pups. She continues to nest and act protectively. Is this something normal? I calculated her due date to be about January 10th.. it is the 8th now and I’m beginning to wonder if she’s going to have any pups at all.
Very Confused 1st time Breeder.

It is not uncommon for the temp to go up and down. Once it
drops below 98 and there are no puppies within 24 hours, you
have reason to be concerned. I am not sure about the orange
discharge. I have seen clear and light green, but never orange. I
would the vet and have her seen. If she started nesting 3 days
ago and has not had puppies, then a vet should look at her. In
my experience, my girls do not nest until the day they are going
to whelp.
Do you know for a fact that she is pregnant?

Reply to lcbryson's Post: I am not for sure that she is pregnant. She has showed signs. Slight swelling of abdomen. She is lactating. I was able to express milk from her nipples yesterday. She had a litter of four in May '04 and she nested(hiding under the bed and rooting around in clothes baskets and her bed) for three days. She also acted snappy once she got comfortable.
