swelling

Sent to Pet Experts January 08 09:23 AM

Our 1 year old Rottweiler-Husky began having a swollen upper lip on both sides. It seems this morning it is also on her bottom lip. We cannot connect any reason for this.

It could be from an insect bite/sting or some other allergic type reaction. Start with a benadryl and repeat it in 8 hours. If you feel that breathing seems labored or compromised go to a vet immediately.

Probably not. These young dogs tend to bite after insects and sniff them as well as other things. If your dog develops other signs tick issues may be called into question, but not the swelling on the face.
