hair loss 10 year old sheltie

i have a 10 year old sheltie looks act eats perfectly well routine labs and tsh normal he develops moist brown lesions easily removeable causing large areas of balding the areas are if anything mildly pruitic. what is this how do i treat it

Do they peel off like scabs? Is his coat greasy or scaly? How long has he had them? After you peel them off, what does the skin look like underneath? Any redness?

hes had the condition for about 6months yes they peel off like scabs skin is red underneath and could certainly be said to be greasy certainly not scaly at all

mainly on the back along the ridge but also along the collar more extensive along the ridge of the back brown moist easily removable and red underneath they coalesce but are generally pea to dime size
