Our 7-month-old female Schnauzer was spayed this week
Sent to Pet Experts October 20 10:46 PM

Our 7-month-old female Schnauzer was spayed this week and when we brought her home, our 3-year-old male Schnauzer started acting as if she is in heat. His behavior has become more agitated by the hour until there is constant whining, trying to mount, etc. She definitely is not interested in him. Even when he is caged, he cries, digs at the cage and tries to get to her. This is driving us all crazy. What should we do to resolve this and make life comfortable for all involved?

Was she in heat when she was spayed? If not had she just gone out or was she ready to come in? It is probably one of these things. Do NOT let him breed her as he will cause serious damage to her- possibly even death. You can get a mild sedative from your vet for him until she is healed and no longer has whatever scent she has right now.
