Question

what can I do to help my sick kitty

Sent to Pet Experts October 06, 2006 9:41 p.m.

my cat, 8 years old, was fine yesterday, but today is huddled up against the radiator and VERY lathargic. She seems to be whistling a little when she breathes also. Is there anything I can do for her, or is it like a human cold that just needs time to pass.

Optional Information:
Age: 9; Female; Breed: cat

Already Tried:
warm milk which she didn't touch. Mostly we've just been holding her

ACCEPTED Check Mark

This could be potentially serious and she needs to see the vet. If she is not eating and is in a 'crouched' or 'huddled' position, she is in pain. I can't speculate as to what the cause of the discomfort is, but she may have an obstruction which is causing the 'whistling' sound when she breathes or a bronchial infection. I would get your girl to the vet no later than tomorrow morning.
