Question

What do you think it is? Can it be fixed?

Sent to Pet Experts October 06, 2006 11:45 a.m.

I have a 130lb american Bulldog he is great he's 9 years old . I took him to the vet last week due to his back legs were not working right (and can not get up and down well) the vet gave me anti inflammatorys/pain meds. it did not work . his back legs are like hes drunk and it is very hard for him to get up. I took him back today and dropped him off at the vet , after the vet watched him walk (His back leg knuckles drag while walking) she said it sounds like he may have a pinched nerve @ his back ( spinal cord) so she is doing blood work and xrays now. I am so scared, this dog is the best and he is so happy!! ( He was not injured in any way for this to have happened) what do you think? and can this type thing be repaired? I will do anything to keep him healthy and with us . I always seem to get bad news everytime i take one of our dogs in , and alot of times their condition seems to be not fixable. I have to wait all day to find out the results and my daughter and I are sitting here a wreck, we love him so much ( Maybe to much!) do you have any input on this for me . ( He has no other health issues , never has. ) Thanks, Angela.
