MY CAT WHO IS AN OCCASIONAL OUTDOOR CAT,( MEANING SHE GOES OUT SEVERAL TIMES A DAY TO SIT IN THE GARDEN UNDER BUSHES ) HAS LITTLE BUMPS ON THE OUTER EAR .. THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE SCABS WHEN SCRATCHED SOME WILL COME OFF AND LEAVE A CLEAR SPOT ON EAR OTHERS DO NOT COME OFF AND LOOK LIKE MIGHT BE UNDER THE SKIN. SHE ALLOWS ME TO TRY AND REMOVE FOR A SHORT WHILE , BUT THEN WILL STRUGGLE.THEY ARE THE SIZE OF THE HEAD OF A STRAIGHT PIN ..WHAT CAN THESE BE AND IS THERE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE ..SHE DOESN T SEEM TO BE BOTHERED BY THEM ..ON RARE OCCASIONS SHE LL SCRATCH HER EAR ..

Dear maryblow23@aol,

Your kitty needs to go the vet and get a skin scraping of the affected area. These scabs could be parasites, infection, reactions from allergies are the most common causes. A skin scraping would most likely identify the cause. You need to find the cause before treatment can be intiated.
