Question

feline rectal growth

our cat seems to have a very small (BB-sized) dark growth protruding from his rectum. it does not appear to be feces, nor does it appear to be painful. what should we do?

You need to get your kitty into the vet. This could be the start of rectal prolapse (a condition where the intestine is actually expelled through the rectum), or he may have ingested something that is blocking his anal opening. Watch it tonite and be prepared to take him to the emergency clinic if it gets worse before your vet opens after the weekend.
