Question

Possible ear infection

Sent to Pet Experts November 01, 2004 1:52 p.m.

My white english labrador retriever appears to have a yeast infection in her ear, which has a bad odor to it.
What form of treatment is recommended?
Beside the offensive odor, she keeps digging at her ear and then spends countless minutes licking/
washing the rear paw she has just used to scratch

You are in Az so you may be dealing with a foxtail along with an infection. Your best bet is to have your vet look down in the ear canal with an otoscope to assure there's not anything causing the irritation. At that tie they can do an ear swab to establish if it just yeast or possibly something else and that will determine the type of medication.
Good Luck!
