Hello again Customer (name blocked for privacy).. everything with the tank sounds great, but I do recomend including greens such as red leaf and green leaf lettuce, and some fruits and veggies in his diet. Also he would benefit from having the meal and wax worms be secondary to crickets, as crickets contain a higher calcium to phosphorous ratio. You can calcium dust the greens and crickets for added nutrition too. Also, try to include a hide over the cool spot to give him a hide for when he dosn't want to warm up. I would most definatly take the heat rock out though, as they nearly always result in burns on the reptile they're being used with. This actually may be the problem. Reptiles don't have the same pain receptors we do, and burns often don't show up for quite a while after actually occuring. The heat lamp should be enough to heat up a regular rock for basking, you could even use the same rock and merely cut the cord off. Be sure no UV bulb gets older than 10 months, as they lose their effectiveness with time. Beardies turn black when stressed or upset (angry), and also when trying to absorb more heat. I don't doubt something is wrong though. I have read of one other case that sounds remarkably similar, and had an unhappy ending. No one could really figure out what exactly had been wrong. The only thing I can suggest is get him to a vet and get some tests run. Try and save his poo for the vet to check. Is he shedding at all? That was one thing about the other case that I havn't noticed a similarity in this one. Sometimes some strains of CBB reptiles are just, well, not meant to be.. This could be nothing at all, or it could be something really bad. I have included links to Herp. vets in Utah. Best of luck to you and your Dragon! Keep us posted on how he's doing, and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask!
