Hi,
I have a 11 year old german shorthair pointer that is having problems with his bowels. It seems that his motion and reflexes have slowed in his hind limbs also. It seems like when he is sleeping he is not feeling that he needs to have a bowel movement. He is going in his bed at night and then he lays in it also like he doesn't know he has done it. During the day at the last minute he will jump up and run outside to go. Would you have a clue how to treat this or which way I should go first. I have called our vet it would be neurological and he believes that we could start with a anti-inflamitory first and then switch to cortisone next. Would this be a good treatment?
Thx
