I am on vacation. I talked to my son at home and he told me our dog had eaten a disposable diaper and had vomited at least 5 times in the past two days. The dog is a small, 2 year old shihtzu mix. Is there something I can recommend my son give to her? It is more frightening because I am away. Thanks, Jan S.

Age: 2; Female; Breed: Shihtzu mix

SHe sounds as though she may have a blockage. I would hold off food and water til morning....if no vomiting then try a small bit of water...do frequent small amounts. After about an hour or 2 if there's still no vomiting then try her on something bland like boiled chicken and white rice...again, frequent small amounts...should the vomiting continue then a vet visit is needed today.
