Question

sudden onset-feline

Sent to Pet Experts July 30, 2006 7:23 p.m.

My 6 year old Russian-blue has become lethargic overnight. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations. He is refusing to drink, eat, or play which is not normal for him. He also has a cough which is new, like he is trying to get something out of his throat. He has never had a problem with hairballs. There is some nasal discharge(clear) as well as runny eyes. There is no vet service nearby on weekends. I have him in the basement where it is cool-he would prefer to sleep in the hot sun. My vet is not in until 8AM Monday. I will drive him the 60 miles for ER service if needed. What can I do in the meantime?

Is he using the litter box with no problem?
