HOT SPOT
Sent to Pet Experts July 19 09:21 AM

My 1 Year and 11 Month old Golden Retriever is being treated for a hot spot the size of a silver dollar just below his right ear. He is currently on Amoxicillin 400MG Twice a day and Pred 5MG once a day. He will be finished with the Amoxicillin today 7/19/06 and tomorrow he will be on the pred every other day until 7/30/06. As a topical Ointment, after cleaning with peroxide and water, we have been applying Animax cream. The Hot Spot has pretty much healed and the redness has gone away. The hair has already started to grow back. My question is this; We have several days vacation at the beach starting today and I would like to put the K-9 Advantix on him for obvious reasons. Will it have any adverse effects? I would ask my regular Vet but they are away on vacation.
Thank You Very Much!

John

No you should not have any problems with the Advantix as long as it is something that he has had before and not had problems with. It should not affect the healing hotspot any should not interfere with the Pred that he is on. Enjoy your vacation.
