10yr old shihtzu sneezing and coughing

Sent to Pet Experts July 15 02:17 AM

i hAD MY SHIHTZU TO THE VET ON MONDAY, FOR REPEATED SNEEZING, THE VET DID A BASIC CHECK ON SCRUFFY AND SAID TO TRY SMALL DOSES OF BENEDRYL, WHICH I DID, BUT THEN ALONG WITH THE SNEEZING HE BEGAN RETCHING SOMETHING AWFUL, WHEN HE IS SLEEPING OR LIEING DOWN HE SEEMS FINE,.. HE EATS WELL, AND DRINKS, AND WANTS TO PLAY BUT THEN HE STARTS RETCHING ALL OVER AGAIN, I TOOK HIM BACK TO THE VET YESTERDAY, AND THEY DID A CHEST XRAY WHICH WAS FINE, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET A FACIAL XRAY BECAUSE SCRUFFY WOULD GROWL AT THE VET,
THEY ALSO DID BLOOD WORK, WHICH SHOWED ELEVATED WHITE BLOOD COUNTS, BUT WE STILL DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE WHAT IS GOING ON, THE DR. PUT HIM ON CLAVOMAX AND TAMIRIL UNTIL THIS COMING MONDAY, IT HAS SLOWED DOWN THE RETCHING, BUT HE STILL CONTINUES IT WHEN HE TRYS TO BE ACTIVE ... ANY CLUE WHAT COULD BE GOING ON?
