illness ?

My dog is laying around feels warms, has stuff coming out of his eyes, puss around his male parts. He did this a few weeks back and I took him to the vet and they told me he had a cold and didnt do anything for him other than look at him and tell me to give him childrens tylenol. I was wondering if this could possibly be a uti or bladder infection and if I should take him to the vet again or just continue with the same treatment as before
