LOSS OF HAIR

I HAVE 2 15 YR. OLD POMERANIANS. ON ONE OF THEM HIS HAIR HAS BEEN THINNING FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS OR MORE. ALSO THE TEXTURE OF THE HAIR IS MUCH MORE COURSE, AND COLOR IS BLACKER IN PLACES WHERE THERE WASN'T ANY. HE HAS LOST 95% OF HIS ORANGE COLOR ON HIS BODY, BUT NO ORANGE COLOR LOSS ON HIS HEAD OR FEET. HIS PAPERS SAY HE IS A ORANGE SABLE. HE WAS BEAUTIFUL 2 YRS. AGO. HIS SKIN IS DRY AND FLAKEY, BUT IT ALWAYS WAS. HE DOES SEEM TO DRINK MORE WATER, BUT NOT OUT OF CONTROL. MY OTHER DOG IS FINE. THE VET FEELS THERE IS NO REASON TO DO BLOOD WORK ON HIM. MY GROOMER AND I FEEL THERE IS SOMTHING WRONG. HE HAS ONLY LOST A FEW ONCES OF WEIGHT. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME IDEA WHAT TO DO.
