Mange on humans?
Sent to Pet Experts June 26 01:58 AM

My question is can people contract mange (scabies) from dogs? My son adopted a puppy he found on the roadside. She was scratching constantly and didn't seem to have a lot of fur, but she was only about 4-6 weeks old when he found her.   He took her to the vet and she was diagnosed and treated for mange. The treatment lasted over a number of weeks and during that time, my son broke out in a rash on his hands and arms. A friend of his told him it was scabies from the dog. He went to his doctor and was treated. The dog has not shown symptoms since her treatment. We are now taking care of the dog since my son travels in his work. My daughter has a rash on her fingers, forearms and stomach. I have looked at a lot of information on mange and scabies, and there seem to be information on both and a couple of sites say you cannot contract it from the pet, yet most are vague. Please help.

Checked her over, but maybe I don't know what I am supposed to be looking for. I have looked at the sites that show photos so I could identify (I thought) but I may be wrong.
