Hi, I have a 4 year old yellow lab mix. Last summer he had a skin outbreak, he gets black spots all over him, they seem to start around his hind legs, tail and under belly. I don't think it's a food allergy because he only seems to breakout in the hot weather he's is fine through out the New England winters, These spots are kind of greasy feeling and peel away if you scrape them but they also take the hair with them when they go. He eats Blue seal Nip&tuck dry food mixed with 1/2 can of prime cuts, any idea what this could be?

This could be an inhalant allergy as it seems to be seasonal or it could be a reaction to insect bites including fleas or biting flies etc.
With an inhalant allergy the spots could be a secondary infection with yeast or staph due to the allergic response.
It might also be a contact allergy from sitting on grass or running through vegetation etc.
You can read about allergies here

You should talk to your vet about possible use of an antihistamine with your dog and maybe an antibiotic shampoo such as a chlorhexaderm shampoo.
Hope this helps you!
