PLEASE DON'T LET HIM DIE, CAN ANYONE HELP ME

PLEASE HELP ME!!! I am keeping a 7 yr old stud horse for my Brother until he returns! I CAN'T AFFORD A VET AND CAN'T LET HIM DIE!!!Last thur.&fri. he had sand colic, and between walking and oiling, and alot of praying he seemed fine. I kept him on hay and water until sat. evening and then only 1/2 feedings and all the hay he wants. He was fine until today, now he acts like he has no energy and is on the ground again. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME I CAN'T LET ANYTHING HAPPEN TO HIS HORSE WHILE HE'S AWAY!

Get the horse up. You are going to be walking. Repeat what you did and get him moving. Tell me if you hear stomach noises, is thehorse sweating, is he nipping at his belly? Kicking, tell me as much as you can.

no he does'nt act like he did when was colic then he was bitein his side and trying to roll now he is just wanting to lay around and not do anything

Is he sweating, tongue or belly swollen, gums white? how is his breathing? Put you hands on his ears, chest between his from eyes, is he hot? Is there lather between his hind legs. What State are you in?

no hes not sweating, no his tongue or belly are'nt swollen, yes his gums are white. no hes not hot, and there no lather. I'm in lower Alabama

Did he graze today and suck in more sand? Has he pooped and peed in the last 12 hours? He is in a form of colic after shock. If you had the monies do you know a VET?

no he did'nt get more sand today, yes hes peeing fine, and has pooped serveral times in last 18 hours but it is loose. YES

I gave him R$otectin 1.87% horse wormer and hes up and walking around so I'm going to keep walking him. Please keep a eye on this page and if anything changes I'll be back
