parakeet has veritgo or is suddenly going blind

my red rumped parakeet seems to have gone nearly blind overnight.
or maybe it could be an inner ear infection or vertigo.
she stumbles about as she moves around her very familiar cage.
she holds her head oddly and shakes it a little when eating.
when she tried to fly, she hovered over her regular perch like she couldn't see it clearly.
then she freaked out and flew right into the floor.
what can i do for her?

Do you know for sure that you have a female? How old is she? What is her normal dailey diet? This extra information will help me give you my best advice. Also, as a just in case, do you already have a well qualified avian vet that you use? If not, and if you don't know of one, if you will tell me your closest big city, I'll try to locate one for you, if not for now, at least for the future. Thanks, Patricia
