We took our eight year old golden retriever/collie mix to ...

We took our eight year old golden retriever/collie mix to the vet 4 weeks ago for limping on his left forepaw. X-rays were normal, blood tests showed elevated liver enzymes. A padded wrap left on for a week seemed to help. We followed the padded wrap with an ace bandage wrapped tightly on his foreleg for 4 more days. Two days ago he started limping again, yesterday morning we noticed he is not standing upright on his back legs. Rather than stretch his back legs out to appromixate a 90 degree angle with his back, he keeps his back legs at approximately a 35 degree angle. What could cause this?
