Is there any possibility your duck may have been shot? Even if only by a pellet gun? How tame is your duck? Meaning how stressful do you judge it would be if you had to restrain her for treatment?

This is a very young tame duck. I am able to hold him to administer care.( Few weeks old) Actually, we have two tame and one very small wood duck who was orphaned. ( maybe 31/2 weeks old) They are in a large dog kennel that has been lined with chicken wire to protect them from predators. It is 6 foot tall and 3/4 of it is very securely covered with a tarp. I found a feather in the ducks pool this a.m., so am not sure whether it may have been an owl, hawk, eagle or possibly a racoon. ( Feather may not be the clue.) We do live on a lake, so it could have been most anything.
I have applied antibiotic ointment and just purchased a different enclosure to lock them in for more security at night.
I did notice, he is having trouble controlling his movement of that leg as well, now. If that doesn't improve by tomorrow, we may take him into the vet.
Thank you for your assistance.
