My 3yr old west highland white terrier has been recently (in the past 2 days) been appearing very nervous and weak. His back legs are shaky and his eyes and face are twitching (neurological symptoms?). He is not eating but is drinking water. He is urinating regularly. Last week (4days ago) I gave him a flea/tick treatment of Frontline Plus as directed. Could this cause side effects as I've described?

Dear friend,

Your boy has had a reaction to this product. He is allergic and very sensitive to it. Do not ever use it on him again (or any other such products).

The product is absorbed through the skin, but you need to bathe him to get any residue off. Also give him as much plain pedialyte that you can get him to drink to dilute the toxin in his blood. Boil him chicken or hamburger and cooked white rice and get as much food into him as possible.

If his symtoms worsen, you must get him to and ER vet for an IV to get this product out of his bloodstream.

Please post back to me and let me know how he is .

Very sincerely,

Terri
