A vet told me my guinea pig has allergies. I changed her bedding from timothy hay/ wood chips to shredded and sheets of newspaper. She has been getting thick green piggy boogers, for lack of better term, and I clean her nasal area almost every other day. I often apply menthalatum(spelling?) to her nose. She's not an active pig but did use to be more vocal. Is this just allergies or a resp. infect.? Last time I took her to the vet, I spent over $100 just to find out she had allergies and was in heat. Any bit of info on pig allergies would be helpful. How do I know if it is something more serious? Jacq
