My 3-year-old Yorkie loves to play with his toys on my bed. He has a particular toy that he "humps" and, in the last month, many times after he "humps" the toy, he urinates on the bed. He doesn't squat to urinate in one spot like he would outside but he sort of walks while urinating which creates a trail of urine. Could please tell what would cause my Yorkie to do this? Should I take him to see his vet? Thank you.

ACCEPTEDCheck Mark
As this is new behavior getting him checked out for a urinary tract infection might be a good idea. If he is not neutered the vet might want to check his prostate also.
After the humping behavior this could be marking behavior or it might be lack of sphincter control due to infection or a prostate issue.
Neutering might resolve this behavior if he is not yet neutered.
Hope this helps you!

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: Thank you so much for your advice. I just wanted to say that my Yorkie has been neutered. That being said, it there still a possibility that there is something wrong with the prostate? Thank you so much.
