my chi was hooked up to an IV , is it likely it had gluclose in it. she had trouble breathing, they put her in oxegen (she was 5mo old and weighed 2 lbs) they said she had a grade 4 heart murmur, they did tests they came back ok, except for a low white ct, and her temp was below normal, on the way to further tests, 24hrs later she quit breathing and they did CPR and could not revive her. they said she had congential heart problems. she was happy, played, no signs of trouble before this, i think she should not of been over 24 hours with out something to prevent hydroglcemia, so that combined with the heart, caused her death, even tho she did not go into a coma, or have convulsions, this was the big teaching vet college in manahattan ks, my vet never caught the murmur at 3 months or and the first vet at the college on duty never caught it but the next morn, the next vet on duty did, i asked her why didnt the prior shift say anything she said tests showed her heart and lungs to be fine, she thought she had gastritis, cause i fed her a little strip of turkey and since we were outside that day, they gave her a iv cause she was dehydraded. and they said her mouth or something was pale, she felt cold to the touch, we gave her nutragal that night before cause she was listless and wouldnt eat ,it was a bunch of errors. do you have any thoughts on this? please help me understandmy puppysdeath!!! Is congential heart disease something that just takes a puppy so fast, without warning or cant be repaired.
