Our 9 month old black lab is acting like her tail is

Our 9 month old black lab is acting like her tail is broken. She is keeping her tail under herself and it's limp. She doesn't like anyone touching it either. We did give a bath today though. I have heard of limp tail before, should we go to the 24 hour vet? or wait for her real vet Monday?
Thanks

Hi, when a dog breaks their tail or you think it is broken, vet care should be sough immediately so they can get x-rayed and get the proper care. If you wait to long their tails can be damaged for life. Many vets will can fix this problem with surgery. Even if it dosen't look bad on the outside it may be a sever fracture or dislocation. Hope this helps and please seek vet care so you puppies tail isn't permanetly damaged. Good Luck.

Yes, this is very frequent in sporting dogs, especially labs. I myself have a lab and thankfully have had no problems with his tail. Many of these dogs that have gone through this occurence usually recover within a few days, but may also have reoccuring problems. Hope this helps

Reply to Heather's Post: She sits without showing any pain. She's obviosly uncomfortable but not in extreme pain. I'm not sure if we should take her to the e-vet.
